The short answer
Choose a LinkedIn lead generation agency by the quality of its targeting, message approval, reply handling and sales handoff—not the largest promised sending volume. Ask for relevant client evidence, a clear definition of a qualified meeting and an honest explanation of account risk.
01
First, know what you are buying
LinkedIn software, a managed outreach service and appointment setting are different purchases. Software gives your team controls. A managed service supplies the people who research the audience, write the campaign and review replies. Appointment setting may include qualification and calendar coordination, but you need to confirm exactly where that responsibility starts and stops.
For a staffing firm, the opportunity might be a conversation with a hiring manager in a specific market. For a marketing agency, it might be an owner or marketing leader at a target brand. A provider should be able to explain your buyer, your offer and the handoff without hiding behind a list of features.
- Who researches and approves the target audience?
- Who writes, approves and changes the messages?
- Who reads replies and qualifies interest?
- What does your salesperson receive before a meeting?
02
Inspect the audience before the campaign
A large list is not proof of fit. Review a representative sample against industry, geography, decision-making responsibility and company requirements. Include exclusions: existing clients, competitors, unsuitable accounts and people already in an active sales conversation.
Activity and intent signals can help decide where to start. A role change, hiring activity or expansion may make the approach more relevant. None proves that a prospect has a budget or wants a meeting. Ask which signals are actually available and how the team checks them.
- Request a sample list and the reasons each segment belongs.
- Agree exclusions and a process for correcting poor matches.
- Check that personalization connects to a real business need.
03
Define meeting quality, not just the count
Agree what counts as a qualified conversation before launch. Record the prospect's role, company fit, stated interest and reason for meeting. Decide how cancellations, duplicates, reschedules and no-shows are reported. A calendar entry alone does not tell your team whether the meeting is useful.
Review the full path: accepted connections, replies, positive conversations, attended meetings and opportunities. These stages diagnose different problems. Low acceptance can suggest a targeting or profile issue; replies without interest can suggest an offer problem. Your sales team's feedback should feed the next campaign.
04
Ask the uncomfortable account-risk questions
LinkedIn prohibits unauthorised tools that automate activity. No agency can guarantee that an automated setup is risk-free or that an account has unlimited sending capacity. Ask what access is required, what happens if an account is restricted and who can stop the campaign.
Blue Craze Media can scope audiences of 1,000–30,000 prospects. That describes the target audience, not a daily or monthly sending allowance. Outreach must be phased around the account setup, available channels and restrictions.
- Ask for risk disclosure before agreeing to the setup.
- Confirm stop-on-reply and campaign-pause controls.
- Do not accept guaranteed account safety or unrestricted sending claims.
05
Compare proposals against the same brief
Give each provider the same audience, offer, exclusions and qualification criteria. Compare scope, campaign visibility, reply ownership, review cadence and cancellation terms—not only headline price. Ask for relevant published evidence and distinguish aggregate experience from one client's result.
Our Madison Davis case study reports over $1 million in revenue within three months from LinkedIn automation. It is evidence of that client's experience, not a forecast for another firm. Your audience, reputation, offer and sales process still matter.
